Simbine is a true testament to the fact that hard work, dedication, and a never-give-up attitude can take you to the highest level of your sport, regardless of your circumstances. As an African athlete, Simbine has had to overcome a multitude of challenges. Not only has he managed to overcome those challenges, but he has also reached the pinnacle of his sport, becoming one of the fastest sprinters in the world.

“I faced a few challenges being an African athlete – a few I have listed below: injuries at the beginning of my career, the high cost of having a medical team, not having the infrastructure available to you to train as best as your competitors from first-world countries, and not having the resources being made available to you because athletics isn’t a big enough sport in South Africa,” Simbine said.

Despite these challenges, Simbine refused to allow them to define him. He took a proactive approach to address each issue and find a solution. One of the ways Simbine managed to overcome these obstacles was by focusing on his education. He used his athletic talent to secure bursaries and scholarships that helped support him financially.

“I studied and ran for my university, and was fortunate enough to have caught the eye of Adidas early and signed with them. They also put money towards my schooling, medical, travel, coaching, and well-being,” Simbine said.

His dedication to both his academic and athletic pursuits has been instrumental in his success. Simbine’s hard work and determination have paid off in the form of numerous accolades and achievements throughout his career.

His most notable achievements include:

– Commonwealth Games champion

– Two-time Olympic Games top-eight finisher

– Five-time World Championships top-eight finisher

– African champion

– Two Commonwealth Games silver medals

– Two African Championships silver medals

– World Relays silver medal

– African Championships bronze medal

– World University Games champion

– World Cup bronze medal

– Eight-time Diamond League meeting winner

– Seven-time national champion

– Two-time African record holder

Simbine has had to navigate through a myriad of obstacles, including financial struggles, injuries, and a lack of resources and infrastructure. However, he has persevered through it all and continues to inspire millions of people around the world with his remarkable success on the track.

As a young, up-and-coming athlete, Simbine faced a number of significant challenges. One of the most difficult was dealing with injuries early in his career. When asked about the legacy he would like to leave behind, Simbine emphasized the importance of inspiring the next generation.

“I want to be remembered as someone that never gave up and constantly looked for opportunities to grow and be better and to inspire the next generation so that they can be better,” Simbine said.

His story is a testament to the fact that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. He hopes to inspire young athletes, especially those from Africa, to never give up on their dreams and to always strive for greatness.

“My advice to young athletes, particularly those from Africa, is to never give up. There is no sport without the athlete,” Simbine said.

The Commonwealth Games champion also draws inspiration from his parents, who have been his biggest role models throughout his life. He said; “My parents have always been my inspiration. They taught me everything I know about working hard and making sure you sacrifice for what you want and to never give up. My parents are legends in my eyes, and I give everything of what I am to them,” Simbine said.

In addition to his athletic pursuits, Simbine is also passionate about giving back to his community. He is involved in supporting an organization called MyDesk, which manufactures a portable all-in-one desk, bag, chair, and table for kids in disadvantaged areas.

“For me, it’s important because if a child has a working space, they can then up their level of learning,” Simbine said.

He understands the importance of education and wants to provide children with the tools they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. Simbine is a shining example of an athlete who uses his platform to make a positive impact on the world.

As a global athlete, Simbine has to balance the demands of training, competition, and personal life. This can be incredibly challenging, especially given the unique obstacles that athletes often face.

“It’s really, really tough. But the sport comes first for me in most instances. It’s a constant battle between sport and personal, but everyone’s situation is different, and you figure out how to navigate best in your life,” Simbine said.

Despite the difficulties, Simbine remains committed to his sport and continues to push himself to be the best. As he looks toward the future, Simbine has his sights set on becoming an Olympic champion, a world champion, and an African record holder over the 100 meters.

While he has already achieved so much in his career, he is not content to rest on his laurels. He continues to set ambitious goals for himself and is determined to reach new heights in the sport of track and field. When it’s all said and done, Simbine hopes to be remembered as someone who never gave up and constantly looked for opportunities to grow and be better.

“Just because we are from third-world countries does not mean you can’t be better than someone from a first-world country. You build thicker skin coming from where we do, and your drive is a lot deeper,” Simbine said.

Simbine’s journey is a powerful message to the youth and he hopes to inspire them to dream big and never give up on their aspirations. He left a few words of advice for the next generation of athletes.

“Don’t give up. Never give up. And also speak up. There is no sport without the athlete,” Simbine said.

As the hotshot sprinter continued to share his journey, he noted that his most notable achievements is the legacy he would like to leave behind, his inspirations, goals, and aspirations for the future, as well as his life off the track, including how he gives back to his community and what he would like to see changed in sports.

Simbine is living proof that anything is possible with hard work, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of greatness. Simbine’s journey as an athlete is far from over, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this remarkable talent.
